Delilah Thomas, a young painter adrift in her own life, is still haunted by the death of her mother, Evelyn—a celebrated author whose brilliance was shadowed by family turmoil. At a book event in Cornwall, Delilah encounters Jack Holloway, a once-renowned American writer touring his latest novel. Their meeting stirs an uncanny familiarity, and as Delilah reveals her true connection to him, Jack is forced to revisit a long-buried affair with Evelyn that fractured lives decades earlier.
